Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,598ft) via the Gokyo Valley and Cho La Pass is a superb add-on to the classic trek to Everest. This is a more intense challenge where you not only reach Everest Base Camp but also climb over the spectacular Cho La Pass & enjoy the crystal blue lakes of Gokyo Valley.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (elevation 1350 m)

The tour guide staff will be waiting for you at the airport holding a sign with your name. Once you meet the leader you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your accommodation in Kathmandu which will require approx. half an hour’s drive. After check-in at the hotel and refreshing up you will be briefed regarding your tour programme.

Day 2: Flight to Lukla (2.840 m) and Trek to Phakding (2610 m)

You'll take a small plane into the Everest region of the Himalayas, the views are simply breathtaking! Once you arrive in Lukla, you will meet your trekking crew and hike along the Dudh Kosi River into Phakding.

Day 3: Phakding (2610 m) to Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

After breakfast we start our journey to Namche Bazaar – the Sherpa capital and base for any Everest expedition. We will have to pass six suspension bridges crossing the beautiful Dudhkoshi River. There are plenty of nice small tea shops along the way where we can stop for some drinks and lunch. We will stay two nights in a local teahouse. This will be your first glimpse of the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest (8,848m)

Day 4: Namche Bazaar Acclimatisation

Today we stay in Namche Bazaar for getting acclimatized. There is an optional hike to a beautiful viewpoint where we can see Mount Everest for the first time. You can also find the beautiful views of Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Or visit the Sherpa museum which will give you an insight to Sherpa life.

Day 5: Namche Bazaar (3440 m) to Dole (4200 m)

This is a beautiful mountain trail, there will be a lunch stop at Mong Danda before heading to the Dol. The trail climbs steeply, passing through rhododendron forests and Yak settlements. The views of Khumbi La and Tawache are magnificent throughout the day.

Day 6: Dole (4200 m) to Machhermo (4470m)

About 6 hrs mountain trail climb out of the small Dole Valley before a gradual ascent up the Dudh Kosi Valley, high above the river.

Day 7: Machhermo (4470m) to Gokyo (4910 m)

The sparkling, pristine blue and green waters of the Gokyo Lakes are one of Nepal’s most memorable sights. They comprise the highest freshwater lake system in the world, at around 5,000 meters. Ducks on the Gokyo Lake seems surprisingly beautiful. There are few tea houses along the lake, making it perfect for the overnight stay to this place.

Day 8: Gokyo (4910 m) to ThangNak (4700m)

Early morning trek for the fantastic view of Himalayas. Then back to the tea house for breakfast, we then move on to a small place called ThangNak, where we will have lunch.

Day 9: ThangNak (4700m) to DzongLa (4830m)

A steep hike up the Cho La Pass, with incredible views at the top. In the afternoon, you'll make your way to the village of Dhzongla.

Day 10: DzongLa (4830m) to Lobuche (4910m)

This place is located at the bottom of the Lobuche East, so it’s called Lobuche. You'll be trekking between mountain villages, as you get closer towards Everest Base Camp. There is viewpoint to see the incredible Khumbu Glacier.

Day 11: Lobuche (4910m) to Everest Base Camp (5364m)

Today is the big day! So better to start early morning. You'll make your way around the Khumbu glacier, before arriving at Everest Base Camp, there you can stop for the lunch and after that you’ll head to Gorakship for an overnight stay.

Day 12: Pheriche/Dingboche (4240m/4410m)

At sunrise, you'll have an opportunity to summit Kala Patthar (5,550m) - the highest point on your trek. The mountain sits parallel to Everest and offers the best views of the mountain. Make the most of this opportunity to take in the views before you start heading back to Dingboche.

Day 13: Dingboche 4410m) to Namche (3440m)

On the way back to Namache, there is a famous Tengboche monastery where you can visit and stop for tea/coffee.

Day 14: Namche (3440m) to Phakding (2610m)

You will head back over the suspension bridge and into Namche.

Day 15: Phakding (2610m) to Lukla(2840m)

Small trek back to Lukla.

Day 16: Lukla (2840m) to Kathmandu

Fly across the Himalaya's and into Ramechhap. From here, you'll be driven back to Kathmandu, where you can explore the city some more.

Day 17: Final Departure

Transfer to Airport as per your schedule.
